Hit the Trail

Literally hundreds of miles of trails fill the San Jacinto Mountains and San Bernardino National Forest, and Idyllwild is a popular stop for hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail. Serious outdoors enthusiasts can climb Tahquitz Rock or hike the Devil’s Peak trail. For a more relaxed outdoor experience, nature trails offer exceptional views, wildlife viewing and bird watching. Or book a room or cabin with a private deck and soak in nature without taking a step.

Hit the Town

The village of Idyllwild is filled with relaxing activities. The town has attracted artists since its founding, and today is filled with art galleries and open studios, along with ample public art displays. Stroll the streets and explore the many shops, from books and records to toys and vintage memorabilia. And, of course, don’t forget to say hi to Mayor Max.

Time to Eat

Idyllwild is filled with locally owned, unique eateries. The Peak Restaurant at Tahquitz Pines is a favorite for their mid-week specials and setting amidst the trees. Idyllwild Brewpub makes their own beers, along with hearty fare for lunch and dinner. For breakfast, you’ll find several coffee shops, plus diners, cafes, and casual fare throughout the town.
